My mother was breathing heavily and we got an ECG done. The report indicated abnormalities. Could this be the reason for her heavy breathing?

Heart problems can cause heavy breathing. She should talk with her primary care doctor about getting her heart evaluated and considering pulmonary function tests to evaluate her breathing. A chest X-ray, echocardiogram and other tests could also help clarify the cause of her heavy breathing.
