• My nails are turning yellow. What could be the reason?

I had extremely beautiful and well shaped nails. However I am noticing not only are my nails turning extremely brittle but also losing their natural color. What could be the cause of this?

Brittle nails could be due to lack of calcium, but with changing of color may be due to fungus. Your diabetes and thyroid, too, has to be checked.

It may be a symptom of vitamin/mineral deficiency. You should consider getting a general bloodtest. Biotin 1000mcg daily is a good supplement for hair, skin and nails.

It may be a fungal infection. Your doctor can send nail clippings for fungal culture in order to make a proper diagnosis.

Could be fungal infection. See your doctor

This can be caused by an infection in the nail bed or a vitamin deficiency.

Yellow nails have a quite extensive differential. However, I would consider a nutritional deficiency first.
