Respiratory therapy for emphysema?
My grandmother has emphysema and the doctor recommended a pulmonary rehab program his practice offers to help her preserve lung function. Do you think that this is a better alternative than using corticosteroids?

Absolutely!! Cortisone masks symptoms and long term use can make her emphysema worse in the end. Pulmonary rehab teaches her how to better keep her lungs clear of secretions and improve her breathing requiring less steroids.
