• Is surgery necessary for a mild benign prostatic hyperplasia?

My father has been diagnosed with mild benign prostatic hyperplasia. According to the nephrologist there is a surgery to correct and manage the condition. Is it the only solution or can the condition be treated with the help of medications also?

It depends on the size of the prostrate and symptoms. Usually, mild prostatic hypertrophy is treated with medicine. Urologist, not nephrologist ,can help you regarding this.
