• I'll be having surgery to rebuild my jaw. Am wondering about length of procedure and anesthesia management during surgery.

I am scheduled to have maxillofacial surgery on my jaw, which needs to be rebuilt somewhat due to an old jaw fracture. How long will the jaw procedure be, and will an anesthesiologist be managing my general anesthesia during the procedure?

You should discuss in detail the procedure and it’s length with your surgeon. Yes, and MD anesthesiologist or CRNA, certified registered nurse anesthetist will manage your anesthesia needs

The anesthetic is a general. The length of the procedure determines how much anesthesia you receive. Anesthesiologists do provide anesthesia as do nurse anesthetist.
