Do newborns have different symptoms when it comes to a kidney infection?

Please check with your pediatrician. Usual symptoms are fever, crying during urination, cloudy/foul smelling and/or bloody urine, irritability with no clear cause, vomiting, refusing to eat, etc.

The pediatrician should test urine and temperatures and, if needed, other tests, too. If diagnosed with a kidney infection, the newborn is going to have antibiotics.

The problem really is that newborns can't tell you what they feel. If you think that there is a problem, like crying when passing urine, then the pediatrician needs to know about it and test for infection and other problems
