• Can tampons cause a urinary tract infection?

I have always used tampons, but have recently been getting frequent UTI's. Can tampons cause these infections?

If it is not properly placed Or kept for longer period it may cause urinary tract infection. consider using other forms, such as pads, for few months

Possibly yes. Try not to use tampons and see if frequency of urinary infection goes down.

Yes. You should visit with your GYN to see if these are documented UTI's or irritation from the tampons.

Tampons should not be causing your UTI’s. There may be other contributing factors. Please discuss this with your provider.
