• Is tea tree oil safe to apply on pimples?

I have a lot of pimples on my face. Someone recommended using tea tree oil for them because it worked from them. But is tea tree oil safe for my skin?

When treating acne, you never want to use anything with an oil base!

Tea tree oil isn’t the usual medication prescribed for acne. It’s an ingredient often used in shampoos and lotions and my help dandruff. I would make an appointment with a dermatologist, which is usually covered under insurance.

Is it safe? Yes, but is it helpful? Sometimes it can be a drying agent and help. Otherwise, it can cause a contact sensitivity.

Safe, yes. Effective - not at all.
