What is the right age to undergo testing for osteoporosis? Are there any symptoms that one should look for or just go for a preventive test?
For a female, 40 - 45 years old.
Hope it helps!

Women should be concerned about and start getting tests for osteoporosis around menopausal age. It is also important to note that you may have a Vitamin D deficiency and you can add over the counter Vitamin D 25 into your diet at any time. When you go to the doctor, they may order a test called a DEXA scan which measures your bone density and will help your physician determine the right diagnosis.
There is not one specific age. The greatest risk for osteoporosis is being post-menopausal in women. There really are not any symptoms of it unless you develop a fracture due to the weak bone.
Osteoporosis becomes more problematic after menopause but can in some women start as early as age 40.
Osteoporosis is a concern for many individuals. Typically screening occurs around age 65.
