I'm 45 years old, male. My heart is in almost perfect health, but I want to monitor it. At what age should I start seeing a cardiologist?
If you don't have any risk factors other than your age and gender, then I guess I would follow your primary care doctor's lead. He or she should tell you if he or she thinks it's time.
You don't need to see one unless there is a heart problem. Keep seeing your GP.
