What are the possible triggers of left side chest pain?
I am 45 years old with a fair level of activity in my everyday routine. I don't have any habits like smoking or even drinking. I have history of cardiac issues running in my family and hence, am a little concerned on the possible triggers which could result in a heart attack. I have been noticing a slight pain around the left side of my chest, could this be a sign of a cardiac issue or could other factors contribute to this pain?

Consult an internist for a check up.
Acid reflux, costocondritis, muscle spasm all can give chest pain. Exertional chest tightness that improves with rest or nitroglycerin points out to cardiac etiology. My recommendation for you is continue being active and watch your diet and even if your cholesterol is perfect to be on a cholesterol medication for prophylactic purpose as you have a family history of premature coronary artery disease.
Anyone can have heart disease. Even people with healthy habits. Family history is a contributing factor. It is impossible to tell what is causing your symptoms without further evaluation. You should see your doctor to discuss further and most likely should have a stress test and other assessment as needed.
If you have cardiac issues you have to consult your pr care dr / internist
It can be but your age is somewhat protective, if you have more then two risk factors (family history) is one see your DR for a history, physical, labs and maybe a stress test, it’s based on an individual basis
You should be checked out by a cardiologist, just to make sure that this chest pain is not "angina", chest pain due to lack of blood supply to the heart muscle.
