• What are the treatment options for kidney stones?

I'm 38, and my ultrasound found that I have kidney stones and my doctor says that they should pass. Is there anything that I can take to help them pass though? Or at least ease the pain?

Passing kidney stones depends on size and site of stone. You should drink plenty of fluids. Avoid high-salt diet and animal protein.

Hello,

Patients in this situation deserve a comprehensive nutritional evaluation as well as a 24hr urine test to assess for the type of stones they are making, and what can be done to prevent them.

Lots of fluids, oral citrate tablets, so no destruction of the stones.
