What causes hard skin growths to form?
I have one on my right index finger that doesn't look like any descriptions I've read online. What is a hard skin growth, if it's not a wart or a callus or anything like that?

It could be calcification, could be a wart. Visit a dermatologist for an evaluation. Please visit your dermatologist to get more recommendations and for your yearly skin exams.
