• What causes an irregular heartbeat in women?

I'm 50 years old, and a woman, and I can feel that my heartbeat is, at times, very irregular. I'm also going through menopause right now, which is why I haven't gone to the doctor yet. Can menopause cause irregular heartbeat? Do you think I should go see a doctor?

Yes and yes. While menopause can cause rhythm issues, so can thyroid issues, high blood pressure, obstructive sleep apnea, over-the-counter medications, supplements, and caffeine consumption. Go see your doctor to help sort things out.
