• What do they give you in the ER for a migraine?

I've been getting migraines often, but I really can't take the one I have now. I want to go to the ER. Does the emergency room do anything for migraines?

They do. First they will complete a history and physical exam to ensure you don’t have something more serious like bleeding in the brain. If it does appear to be a migraine, there are several options for treatment including IV and oral medicines, IV fluids and some newer minimally invasive procedures.

Yes. There are a number of possibilities, each facility and doctor uses a variety of medicines to help break a migraine.
