My mother has COPD and is in her 60s. Her doctor suggested that she should do some aerobic exercises to improve her breathing. Are there any exercises that you recommend?
Start out slow and goal oriented exercises. So, what I mean is, what does she have problems doing that she wants to do. For example, does she want to garden, have an extended walk, go on a hike etc. Once you set the goal, you start put small with chair exercises with arms, stand up sit down and so forth. Build endurance and move to the next level. Keep control of breathing and keep anxiety under control then move to the more strenuous like walking the block or walk on tread mill
