What happens when one lung collapses?
My friend's son was diagnosed with pneumonia and he is currently in the hospital. His one lung has collapsed and he is on a ventilator though conscious. What will happen??

The collapse sometimes resolves itself. Sometimes the medical team places a tube between the lung and chest wall so the air can escape and the lung inflate.
