My 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. What is borderline personality disorder? Is it serious?

Almost like bi polar illness. Unstable feelings and moods and relationships are always destroyed by this and ups and downs in moods. It’s serious enough, especially for those around the person
