I am a 33 year old male. I need to get my wisdom teeth removed. Is it considered oral surgery?

Absolutely. One of the most common procedures for an Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. I recommend seeing an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon for evaluation and treatment.

Depends on the position of the tooth. An impacted, or unerupted, tooth is more considered surgery to have removed. In general, you will have a quicker and easier time with it seeing a specialist to have it removed!

Hello,

Yes, most people consider wisdom tooth extraction oral surgery. A lot of times, your wisdom teeth have to be cut into sections to remove them without damaging anything else. When they do this sometimes they cut your gums and then put stitches back in when they are done.
Hope this helps.

My best to you!
