My husband recently had anal fissure surgery. I would like to know, what is the after care required after such a surgery? What does the recovery period typically look like?

The recovery period after fissure surgery is usually very mild. Most patients return to normal activity in a few days. The only major after care activity is soaking in warm water a few times a day until the discomfort has resolved.
This should be discussed with your surgeon.
Recovery within a few weeks. Taking Sitz baths daily and stool softness is the norm.
