The definition of chronic is greater than three months duration. I would always see a physician for any problem that is chronic.

Many reasons can cause wrist pain, there are multiple pain generator at the wrist for example carpel tunnel syndrome, watch syndrome due to nerve compression due wearing a tight strap of the watch ,tendinosis or tendinitis etc. first line of treatment if no fractures is splint at night , NSAIDs and physical therapy if that failed then interventional by local injection according to the pain generator. Finally, surgery if indicated.
