• What's causing son's eyes to turn red?

My son is 12 years old and I noticed that his eyes turn red sometimes. He also complains of itchiness. What could be causing this, and can eye drops treat it?

It might be allergic conjunctivitis. A complete ophthalmologic exam should be performed.

Your son may well have seasonal or other allergies. Try using a nonsteroidal over-the-counter eye drop to alleviate his symptoms. Take him as well to his ophthalmologist and primary care doctor to confirm the diagnosis and determine if their are other precautions you might take to make him more comfortable.

Could be blepharitis. Usually warm compress to soak and clean eyelids twice a day. For 1 min each. Use a warm tea bag to soak and wipe the pollution off
