• Who will be giving me anesthesia?

I need to have a surgery and I want to know who exactly will be giving anesthesia? Will it be the surgeon or a special physician?

Special physician unless you are getting local anesthesia for the surgery.

If it's a minor surgery, sometimes the surgeon will give local anesthesia. In some cases. they ask for an anesthesiologist. In major surgeries in complicated patients, then an anesthesiologist must be called.

Depends which country you are living in. In Canada, all anesthesia is administered by physicians. In the USA, it could be a physician or a nurse.

Hopefully, you will receive your anesthetic from a fully qualified physician that has 3 or more years of anesthesia training. Ask for an anesthesiologist. See www.asahq.irg for patients.
