• Why are my son's eyes always red?

My son is 12 years old, and his eyes always seem red. He doesn't have any allergies that I'm aware of. Could this be a serious problem? Should we go see a doctor?

There are all kinds of reasons for red eyes. Allergic eye disease can be present in the absence of other allergic symptoms, but chronic conjunctivitis has several causes.
