• Why do I have mild back aches?

I'm a 24 year old male. About two years ago, I started getting minor back aches in my lower back. Recently they started getting much worse. Should I see a doctor?

Yes I think that would be a good idea. You should definitely be evaluated by a Dr. specializing in the lower back.

If that has been going on more than 6 weeks or if it radiates down one or both legs, it should be evaluated.

The most common reason why young people have lower back pain is due to weak back muscles. Google lumbar stretches and strengthening exercises and do them 2-3 times a day. Take ibuprofen 400 mg 3 times a day. If no improvement in 3-4 weeks, see an orthopedic surgeon to make sure there are no other issues.

Hope it helps,
