• Why do I have swollen ankles after sunburn?

I went to the beach a few days ago and got extreme sunburn (no blisters) on my legs and feet. I woke up today and my ankles and feet are swollen. Could the sunburned skin be the cause of the swelling?

Yes. One of the local changes if inflammation is edema (swelling). Using aloe, moisturizer, ice, and leg elevation will help. The most important for next time is sun protection and avoidance.
