• Why do some kids get restless leg syndrome?

My daughter was diagnosed with restless leg syndrome from her pediatrician and while researching it, I noticed that it's common among kids. Why is this a common sleep disorder that kids get?

RLS in children and adults is characterized by leg discomfort which keeps the sufferer from falling asleep. It is usually worse at night and always improves with movement.Restless legs is a neurologic condition with a genetic component. A general look for other illnesses and a detailed look at iron and ferritin levels would be appropriate to start.
