Why does my son need to urinate every hour?
My 5 year old son says he needs to urinate every hour or its painful. Is this normal?

I recommended that he be seen by a Pediatric Urologist.
It may be related multiple of factors. I suggest you have him evaluated by his peditrician or perhaps consider a peditric urologist.
This is not normal and he may have an issue with his bladder or urethra. I would see a local Pediatric Urologist to be evaluated.
There is a condition called urinary frequency of childhood that is usually short lived and limited and can last a month or so.
However, other conditions can cause this that are more serious so I would recommend he see his pediatrician or a pediatric urologist to have this checked.
