• Can you really get the flu from the flu shot?

Every time my sister gets the flu shot, she gets a bad cold and says it gives her the flu. Is there any truth to this myth?

No. The flu shot is not a living virus and does not cause the flu. Sometimes you may experience some mild aches and pains or other mild symptoms, but not the flu.

If vaccinated by live vaccine-nasal drops, someone may develop some symptoms resembling flu like mild illness, but never real flu. Only if immunocomptomised person given live vaccine may develop real Flu.

You will get flu from the flu shot however some people do develop a flu-like symptoms after the shot which is normally mild and is self limited. If you developed this symptoms, no further action is needed. You may take Tylenol if is necessary.

No absolutely not! The vaccine mounts an immune response to produce antibodies and that can make you feel a little under the weather but not illicit the full symptoms of the disease.

No. The flu vaccine is killed unless it is specifically a live vaccine.

Flu vaccine DOES NOT have live virus in it. It can't cause an infection .
