When asked how the field of ovarian cancer is evolving, Dr. Dottino responded, "One of the things that you can clearly see from the talks and the discussion is that more and more people are beginning to look at ovarian cancer in ways that were unthought of in the past. Ovarian cancer and therapies for it are not one-size-fits-all and it is time that researchers begin to delve into the molecular phases of ovarian cancer and not solely rely on simply histologies as doctors and patients make treatment choices. It has taken a very long time to get to this look into ovarian cancer. This approach is routinely done for a lot of other diseases so it is very encouraging to see that this is what a lot of the panel talks revolved around."
