Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in family medicine & hospice and palliative medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Among his other roles, Dr. Lavedan has medical privileges at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Irving.

Hospice and palliative medicine is a formal subspecialty of medicine in the United States that focuses on symptom management, relief of suffering, and end-of-life care.
