He completed his residency in family medicine at the McLennan County Family Medicine Program in 1986, and returned to the University of Texas for a residency in internal medicine. Finally, he received his Master of Business Administration degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. In the past, he held board certifications in both internal medicine and sports medicine.

In his professional experience, he can be found on staff at Memorial Hermann, St. Joseph Medical Center, Houston Methodist, and St. Luke’s Health. He also once held the position of Chief Medical Information Officer for ChristusHealth.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention.
