Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Jason M. Wolf, who serves patients in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

Dr. Wolf, a board-certified gastroenterologist, is currently serving patients within the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

Hillcrest Hospital is a comprehensive-care hospital that is part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System. The hospital currently has 500 registered beds and serves as a level II trauma center for eastern Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Portage counties. The mission of Cleveland Clinic is “to provide better care of the sick, investigation into their problems, and further education of those who serve.”

In the early days of his academic career, Dr. Wolf earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in 1997. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri in 1998 and 2000, respectively. Three years later, in 2003, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.
