Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. David M. Staff, who serves patients in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

As a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist, Dr. Staff provides general GI care as well as treatment for IBD, liver disease, and hepatitis C. He is skilled at endoscopy including colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP.

At present, he is a part of the team of professionals at GI Associates in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He prides himself on listening closely to his patients’ concerns while delivering comprehensive clinical and procedural GI care.

Locally, he is affiliated with ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital, ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, ProHealth Medical Group Clinic Pewaukee, and Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital – St. Joseph Campus.

A native of Brookfield, Dr. Staff graduated with his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1991. He pursued further training with a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals.

Continuously striving to improve patients’ quality of life, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Serving the interests of his profession, Dr. Staff is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Among his numerous accolades, Dr. Staff is the recipient of On-Time Doctor Award (2015), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015, 2018), and Patients’ Choice Award (2016, 2018).

Happily married, he and his wife have 7 children. They enjoy spending time together as a family.
