He has a special interest in aesthetic surgery of the face and body, as well as in breast reconstruction employing all the latest techniques in implant-based and tissue-based procedures.
Located in Monmouth, Middlesex, and Union Counties, Samra Plastic Surgery is a premier plastic surgery practice in central New Jersey specializing in cosmetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. Allowing no less than the highest standards of moral and intellectual excellence, the surgeons have been successful in enabling patients to meet their goals whether they be reconstructive or aesthetic. From restoring a youthful look through modern cosmetic surgical techniques, to reconstructing a breast after the ravages of cancer, to repairing a broken hand from injury, the doctors are skilled in the full spectrum of plastic surgery.
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Samra received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the highly prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1997. He then returned to New Jersey where he obtained his medical degree from the prominent UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2001.
Upon graduating, he went on to train in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine’s world-renowned integrated residency program located in the largest medical center in the world, The Texas Medical Center. While there, Dr. Samra obtained extensive experience operating with some of the nation’s top surgeons in some of the country’s finest institutions, including The Methodist Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Honing his skills, he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Delighted to be practicing in his home state, Dr. Samra has been the Medical Director for the Center for Wound Healing at Bayshore Medical Center since 2008 and has led that team to receive two Center of Excellence awards. He is also a Trustee of the Bayshore Medical Center Foundation.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Samra is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the New York Regional Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons.
In addition to his clinical experience, he has conducted research and has given many presentations on a variety of topics ranging from cosmetic (surgical and non-surgical) treatments to extensive reconstructive surgery.
