Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Dina R. Yazmajian, who serves patients in Horsham, Pennsylvania.

A skilled physician, Dr. Yazmajian joined AMS Cardiology in 1996. She practices general cardiology and non-interventional cardiac electrophysiology. She also consults advanced heart failure patients on options palliative care. Her areas of clinical interest include women’s heart health and preventative medicine. Pertaining to her educational pursuits, Dr. Yazmajian earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University and received her medical degree in 1989 from the New York University School of Medicine. Her post-graduate work in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease was completed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and 1995, respectively. Finally, she completed her fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the Philadelphia Heart Institute in 1996.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology, hospice & palliative medicine, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

As a testament to her success, Dr. Yazmajian has been the recipient of the Philadelphia Magazine Top Doctor Award (2018-2022), Exceptional Women In Medicine Award (2020, 2021), On-Time Doctor Award (2017, 2016, 2015, 2014), Patients' Choice Award (2017, 2014), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2016, 2015, 2014).
