Dr. Auger is an orthodontist who has been providing orthodontic care for residents of the Monterey Peninsula and Salinas area since 1993. He is currently serving patients’ orthodontic needs at his orthodontic specialty practice – Auger Smiles – located in Monterey, California. Dr. Tim proudly uses the Pitt 21 self ligating braces, the most advanced, gentle yet rapid orthodontic bracket available.
Combining the right mix of personal care, high technology and continuing education, Dr. Auger maintains a commitment to his patients in every facet of his practice.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley in 1987. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree in Dentistry from the Boston University School of Dentistry in 1991, where he graduated with honors as class Valedictorian. In 1993, Dr. Auger received his certificate of specialty in orthodontics from UCLA. He published his orthodontic research thesis on Facial Esthetics in 1999.
Dr. Auger achieved American Board of Orthodontics Diplomate status in 2010. He is proud to be a Platinum Level Invisalign Provider. The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates called aligners that have been designed by your orthodontist and are then generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. Invisalign is available to adult and teen patients with certain bite problems.
As a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association, Dr. Auger stays up to date on the latest improvements not only in orthodontics but in the field of dentistry in general.
Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, formerly referred to as orthodontia, is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. As an orthodontist, Dr. Auger is responsible for locating problems with the positioning of patients’ teeth and with their oral development. Both Dr. Auger and his wife, Meghan, are huge supporters of local schools and charities. They have four children: Austin, Connor, Tarhyn and Kevan. The family lives in Carmel, California.
In his spare time, Dr. Auger enjoys fly fishing, playing golf, travelling, watching his youngest son play water polo, hiking with his wife and their corgis, as well as racing his Miata and Acura. Dr. Auger’s older sons are both firemen in California and his daughter is a dentist in the Navy.
