In 1972, South Texas Bone & Joint (formerly Orthopaedic Associates of Corpus Christi) was established to provide multi-specialty, musculoskeletal healthcare services to patients in the immediate and surrounding coastal communities. For over 40 years, the surgeons and medical staff have prided themselves on providing orthopaedic excellence utilizing the most innovative techniques and leading technology. It is with great honor that they continue their mission to serve the citizens of South Texas and beyond.
Growing up in Corpus Christi, Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2005. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2010, followed by his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Hand Center of San Antonio in 2011.
Upon the completion of his training, the doctor became board-certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Thomas is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Nueces County Medical Society, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the Texas Orthopaedic Association.
Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
