Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Alma Aurioles Bagan, who serves patients in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Bagan is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who enjoys providing high quality, empathetic care to women from all backgrounds and cultures. With a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery, she can be found on staff at Park Nicollet Clinic - Burnsville in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Raised in Mexico City, Dr. Bagan earned her medical degree from Anahuac University in 2009. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her training in maternal fetal medicine as a research fellow at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, specializing in ultrasonography in high-risk pregnancy. This was followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in 2018. 

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics, covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and gynecology, covering the health of the female reproductive system, the vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health. 

“I feel listening is the key to empathize with my patients. I believe in honesty, transparent communication, and compassion,” as stated by Dr. Bagan. When she is not tending to patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, singing, playing guitar, going on bike rides, and exploring Minneapolis with her husband and dog, Benito.
