Get to know Neurologist Dr. Debasish Mridha, who serves patients in Saginaw, Michigan.

Dr. Mridha is an exceptional physician, writer, philosopher, and philanthropist. Along with his busy neurology practice - Michigan Advanced Neurology Center - he is active in many medical, educational, and philanthropic endeavors. He has been in practice for over 19 years.

Michigan Advanced Neurology Center is dedicated to providing patients with the most advanced treatments available for neurological disorders. They are dedicated to providing patients with the most advanced treatments available for neurological disorders. Their object is patients’ health and their aim is providing them the best services in diagnosis and treatment of all neurological diseases. They often arrange patient programs for MS, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, headache and migraine.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Mridha earned his medical degree from the Kiev Medical Institute in Ukraine. Wanting to further his education, he relocated to the United States and completed his residency in neurology and his fellowship in neurophysiology at Wayne State University. After finishing his fellowship, he came to Saginaw in 1999 where he established his neurology practice.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in neurology and sleep medicine at the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

In his professional experience, he served on the Board of Directors for the Saginaw Valley State University Foundation, the Michigan State Medical Society, and the AMA Foundation. To   improve leadership among young professionals, he created the “Leadership Scholarship Award”, which is awarded each year to a deserving college student through the SVSU Foundation. He also established the “Debasish Mridha Spirit of Medicine Award” that encourages American physicians to go to third world countries to provide much needed medical care.

To stimulate volunteering within the Saginaw community, Dr. Mridha created the Health Angel Award which is given by the Saginaw County Medical Society in recognition of community service in the Saginaw area. This yearly award recognizes an individual or a group that has had a positive effect on the community.

Believing that education is the best way to solve social problems and social suffering, he created educational scholarships in the United States and in Bangladesh. He also created the Best Teacher Award which is given by the Saginaw County Community Foundation, recognizing a Saginaw County educator that excels at encouraging students to achieve very high standards.

In third world countries, Dr. Mridha participates in philanthropic activities through the Mridha Foundation. This foundation exists to improve education and the quality and dignity of human life. He also founded the Mridha International Institute of Peace & Happiness because he believes passionately that the lessons of peace, harmony, and happiness are renewable resources in education and employing these principles is essential to solving the world’s most challenging social problems and minimizing human suffering. Finally, he created the Mridha International Award for Service to Humanity, encouraging volunteerism and service worldwide.

They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
