Get to know Eric L. Jenison, who serves patients throughout the State of Ohio.
Dr. Jenison is a highly trained gynecologic oncologist serving the community of Ohio at Mercy Health Gynecologic Oncology, with offices in the Toledo and Perrysburg areas. His passion is to provide women gynecologic oncology care with robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery to help treat their cancers.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Jenison graduated with his medical degree from the University of Toledo Medical Center in 1974. He went on to complete his internship and two consecutive residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at Akron General Medical Center in 1976 and 1980, respectively, followed by a residency in general surgery at the St. Thomas Hospital in 1981. Later, he completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 1983.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor is board-certified in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics & gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulvar cancer. A gynecologic oncologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers that are located on a woman’s reproductive organs.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Jenison has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014).
