Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Michele Degregorio, who serves patients in Michigan.

A highly trained interventional cardiologist, Dr. Degregorio works with Cardiology and Vascular Associates, P.C., operating out of the offices in Bloomfield Hills and Clarkston, Michigan. His hospital affiliations include St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, and William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak.

With multiple locations throughout Oakland County, Cardiology and Vascular Associates, P.C. is considered as one of the premier cardiology practices in Michigan. Established in 2000, the practice provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional cardiology and vascular services. Its mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive medical care and maintain the highest level of service and confidence for patients and their referring physicians.

Back in 1988, Dr. Degregorio graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine at the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy. He then relocated to the United States, performing his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in 1997, and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in 1998.

Board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine, Dr. Degregorio is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Widely acknowledged as an insignia of prestige and quality for those who provide cardiovascular care, Dr. Degregorio is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases. Interventional cardiologists are cardiology subspecialists who are trained to place stents in clogged arteries to allow blood to flow properly and reduce risk of stroke or heart attack, as well as to repair holes in the heart or place special devices in the heart to help it function properly.

Among Dr. Degregorio’s various accolades include Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2016, 2013, 2012, 2011), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2014), and Top 10 Doctor – Metro Area (2014).
