Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Satinder Singh, who serves patients in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Singh is a practicing hospitalist at LVPG Hospital Medicine at Cedar Crest.

Lehigh Valley Hospital, based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, is the largest hospital in the Lehigh Valley and the flagship hospital of Lehigh Valley Health Network. Its mission states: “We heal, comfort and care for the people of our community by providing advanced and compassionate health care of superior quality and value supported by education and clinical research.”

Educated in India, Dr. Singh graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences in 2007. He then went on to complete his internship and residencies in internal medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively. 

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. Hospitalists are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Singh speaks several languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
