Dr. Herweg received his medical degree from the University of Duisburg-Essen – Faculty of Medicine in 1988.Thereafter, he went on to complete residencies at the Beth Israel Medical Center and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Yeshiva University.
Dr. Herweg is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Fellowship is one of the most distinguished designations the College offers its members and it is the ultimate recognition of professional achievement. Furthermore, Dr. Herweg is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS), whose mission is to improve the care of patients by promoting research, education and optimal health care policies and standards.
Dr. Herweg is board-certified in both Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
