Get to know Neuro-Oncologist Dr. Syed U. Nasir, who serves patients in Newburgh, New York.

Dr. Nasir is a skilled neuro-oncologist at the Brain Center of Hudson Valley in Newburgh, New York. He has extensive experience in epilepsy, neurodegenerative disorders, and headaches.

Locally, he is affiliated with Garnet Health Medical Center, Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Educated in Pakistan, Dr. Nasir graduated with his medical degree from Dow Medical College in 1991. He then relocated to the United States, performing his post-graduate training at SUNY at Buffalo in 1998 and his fellowship in neurology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York in 2000.

With over three decades of experience in the medical field, Dr. Nasir is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Neuro-oncology is the study of brain and spinal cord neoplasms, many of which are very dangerous and life-threatening. A neuro-oncologist is a doctor who has special training in diagnosing and treating brain tumors and other tumors of the nervous system.

In recognition of his professional achievements, Dr. Nasir has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2008) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018).
