Bhumy Davé Heliker, MD is board-certified in both female pelvic medicine & reconstructive surgery (urogynecology) and obstetrics/gynecology. She believes that every patient is truly unique. Her goal is to listen to her patient’s specific desires/concerns and formulate a customized treatment plan together. She uses evidence-based medicine and innovative technology to provide the best care possible for her patients. Through clinical research and education, she hopes to empower women and advance the state of healthcare.   • Her research focuses on neuromuscular recovery after childbirth, the prevention and treatment of fistulas,and surgical improvement and education. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on these and other topics. In addition, she has received grant funding to study mechanisms of pelvic floor rehabilitation postpartum.

Philanthropic Initiatives

  • For decades, she has been passionate about improving the quality of care provided to women at home as well as around the world. Currently, she focuses her global health efforts on helping women with obstetric fistulas in Rwanda.

  • She was then an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Irvine for 5 years. She is currently a practicing surgeon at in Portland, Oregon and excited to teach OHSU fellows.
