  • My parents who backed me since I was a kid, telling me I could do absolutely anything and to not let anyone tell me otherwise. I think my spiritual upbringing plays a big role in who I am as well.

Dr. Herman brings over two decades of expertise in breast imaging to SSM Health, focusing on patient-centered care and community education. Fellowship-trained in breast imaging, she is committed to providing exceptional care and empowering patients through education.

A graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, she completed her diagnostic radiology residency at the Medical College of Ohio before pursuing specialized training in breast imaging at the University of Virginia. Since obtaining her board certification in 1997, she has been dedicated to advancing the field of radiology with a particular focus on ultrasound, stereotactic and MRI-guided breast biopsy, mammography, and needle localizations of breast lesions.

In her own words, Dr. Herman states, “My goal is to educate patients to become health care ambassadors within their respective communities – thus making a healthier community for all.” This ethos of patient empowerment and community well-being underscores her approach to healthcare, ensuring that each individual feels supported and informed throughout their journey.
