Recognized as an exceptional pathologist, Dr. Fiel is affiliated with The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York. She is also the Core Director of the Mount Sinai Alcoholic Liver Disease Research Center. Her clinical interests include liver pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, and cytopathology.

A Philippine native, she graduated with her medical degree from the University of the East and completed two residencies in internal medicine at the Ormoc District Hospital and at OSPA Farmers Medical Center. After relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her residency in pathology and her fellowships in gastrointestinal pathology and cytopathology at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

A Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD), the doctor is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology & cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.
