Back in 1985, Dr. Alkilidar graduated with her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kufa in Iraq. She then relocated to the United States where she performed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Beaumont Hospital - Dearborn, and her fellowship in breast imaging at Henry Ford Hospital.

As a testament of her continued education, the doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Diagnostic radiology is a medical specialization that involves undertaking a range of imaging procedures to obtain images of the inside of the body. The diagnostic radiologist then carefully interprets these images to diagnose illness and injury.

On a more personal note, Dr. Alkilidar is fluent in both English and Arabic.
