Get to know Family Physician Dr. Aditya Ahlawat, who serves patients in Putnam County and the greater Indianapolis area.

Well-versed in the field of Family Medicine, Dr. Ahlawat holds a multidisciplinary role at Putnam County Hospital, serving as an Emergency Medicine physician, Hospitalist, and is Chief of Medicine. He also holds a community faculty role at the IU Methodist Family Medicine Residency and precepts medical students at Marian College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis.

Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Ahlawat earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry at Assumption College in 2007. He received his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2012, and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program in 2016. Later, in 2020, he obtained his Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

An active member of the American College of Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

On a more personal note, Dr. Ahlawat is fluent in both English and French. He is an avid traveler. He thrives on learning and immersing himself in new experiences and cultures and cherishes these experiences as a means to better serve his community.
